SAVED TO SERVE

Saved-to-Serve

As a church we are very much grateful to have seen yet another a new year that God has blessed us with. We see an amazing journey ahead filled with growth and our commitment this year is that we are all saved and equally called to servant hood, thus our theme SAVED TO SERVE.

It’s our deep prayer that each one of us will encounter God in a special way this year and as we make our commitment to servant hood we should ponder and pray over a few things that we deem quite important for spiritual growth as a church:

  1. Having an encounter with God
  2. Conviction
  3. Obedience and Faith
  4. Provision
  5. Bravery and Brokenness
  6. Follow Christ

What do you do when you are called to serve?

The bible records many encounters that faithful men and women of God went through:

Gideon would be considered as a reluctant leader and his encounter with God was out of a weak self-image. He was at the bottom of the social ladder and filled with self-doubt when he encountered God. Because of that experience, Gideon was able to drive the enemy out of his homeland.

Elijah encountered God out of discouragement. He ran into the desert because queen jezebel threatened to kill him. He encountered God, not in mighty force to destroy the evil rule of Jezebel but God came to him in a still voice to send Him back into service.

As you read through more of the encounters you shall discover servant hood is truly all about touching lives, helping them Grow and draw closer to God so as to serve and thus you need to:

  1. Give yourself to God
  2. Give yourself to others
  3. Make a commitment to use your spiritual gifts
  4. Use your spiritual gifts with humility

God’s greatest lesson to us was all about love and greatest of all is loving one another. As we obey the call to servant hood we should equally be ready and willing to give ourselves to others. We should have initiative and be full of Zeal for God and things of the faith as this builds up determination in our quest to servant hood as we equally practice hospitality on a daily basis.

We are all gifted in different ways but we always need to be wary of Pride for it feeds on goodness and this will most at times cause us to abuse our gifts but grace always humbles us.

Serving is not easy but it can be one of the most fulfilling things if  done with humility.

As we cut the ribbon to walk in to the new season, God is asking you the following questions

  1. Will you give yourself to God?
  2. Will you give your gifts to God?
  3. Will you use your spiritual gifts in humility?

We look forward to an amazing Journey filled with Love and great acts of service amongst brethren’s.

  1. I am indeed saved to serve. This is so clear to me right now. I desire to be useful to God because he has blessed me with so much in this life. I now want how i live this life to be a blessing back to God. I want to be like Onesiphorus who took initiative and was consistent if serving Paul. I am determined to serve. I would like to die empty.
